The Kuwait Aviation Services Company is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Executive Sous Chef - Flight Catering Department, subject to the following requirements.
 
Role Profile
Role Title: Executive Sous Chef
Department: Flight Catering Department            
 
Job Purpose
Production and ensuring that it proceeds according to the set plans, including weights and food recipes. 
 
In this role, you will be responsible for key performance areas and responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
  • Supervising staff in the hot kitchen, cold kitchen, bakery, and pastry sections to ensure that meals are produced according to required specifications, and performing supervisory duties as authorized by the nature of their role on-site.
  • Receiving raw food material orders from the main warehouse and ensuring their suitability for meal preparation, as well as supervising their storage in refrigerators within the production warehouse according to the specific instructions provided by the Quality Control Office and the laboratory.
  • Preparing and developing all food and beverage menus, and working on the innovation and creation of new menu items.
  • Supervising the preparation of raw food materials for required meal production and canteen supplies, and identifying any shortages in these materials.
  • Coordinating and distributing tasks and timing for the production process based on the set airline flight schedules.
  • Monitoring production and ensuring that it proceeds according to the planned specifications, including weights and recipes.
  • Preparing responses to the Sales Unit regarding daily NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Requesting the daily production area needs from the various types of stores.
  • Communicating with Operations and Dispatch to ensure the correct quantities of products are delivered to each flight.
  • Following up on CCP (Critical Control Points) documentation and signing off on them.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
 
Job Requirements:
  • Educational Certificate: High school
  • Minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic (both spoken and written).
 
Additional Requirements:
  • Specialized training courses in the field of cooking
  • Ability to supervise staff in the hot kitchen, cold kitchen, bakery, and pastry sections to ensure that meals are produced according to the required specifications, and to carry out supervisory tasks as authorized by the nature of their role at the work site.
